Rydges Camperdown proudly supports the WNBL Flames
Rydges Camperdown is dedicated to helping lift the profile of women’s basketball in Australia. For over ten years Rydges Camperdown has been the proud sponsor of the Women’s National Basketball League’s Sydney team the Acuvue Sydney Uni Flames.
The flames have played ten home games this season at the University of Sydney’s Aquatic and Sports centre and after the game the teams always head back to Rydges Camperdown for the post match dinner. The Flames had a tough year with a young new team on board however they are looking to strengthen for the new 09/10 season which kick starts in October. The team recently visited Rydges Camperdown for their Annual Sponsors’ Function where official photos were taken with sponsors including the team at Rydges Camperdown.
The WNBL is showing its support to communities affected by the Bushfires and Floods with Appeals at all WNBL games in Round 18; they will be taking donations with all proceeds going to these Appeals. In addition all teams will be wearing black armbands and a minute's silence will be held before each game as a mark of respect for lives lost in the tragedies.
